FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Belize’s Real Estate Industry Unites Under the Belize Real Estate Association (BREA)
AREBB and BNAR Complete Historic Merger,
Marking a New Era for Professionalism and Growth

BELIZE CITY, BELIZE – Wednesday, August 19, 2026 — The Association of Real Estate Brokers of Belize (AREBB) and the Belize National Association of Real Estate (BNAR) are pleased to announce the successful completion of the merger of their two organizations, resulting in the establishment of the Belize Real Estate Association (BREA)—a unified national association dedicated to advancing professionalism, advocacy, education, and ethical standards within Belize’s real estate industry.

This milestone represents the culmination of years of collaboration and a shared vision to strengthen the voice of the real estate profession through one united organization. By bringing together the membership, resources, and expertise of both associations, BREA is positioned to serve as the single national body representing real estate professionals across Belize.

To ensure a smooth and transparent transition, BREA is currently being guided by a Working Committee, co-chaired by Michael Singh, President of AREBB, and Guy Neal, President of BNAR. The Working Committee is overseeing the operational integration of the two associations while laying the foundation for the organization’s long-term governance.

One of the committee’s primary objectives is the successful convening of BREA’s inaugural Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled for November 2026, at which members will elect the Association’s first Board of Directors under its new unified structure.

In parallel with the organizational transition, BREA remains committed to working collaboratively with government and industry stakeholders toward the passage of the long-awaited Real Estate Bill. The Association believes this legislation is essential to establishing a modern regulatory framework that promotes professionalism, consumer protection, accountability, and continued investment in Belize’s real estate sector.

“This merger represents far more than the coming together of two associations—it is the coming together of a profession with a shared commitment to excellence,” said Hugo Moguel, Past President of AREBB. “By unifying our efforts, we are creating a stronger, more sustainable organization that will better serve our members, our clients, and the future of real estate in Belize.”

“BREA provides us with a unique opportunity to move forward with one voice,” added Carlo Habet, Past President of BNAR. “Our focus is on building an association that delivers meaningful value to its members through education, advocacy, professional development, and the establishment of industry best practices.”

The Working Committee has already begun implementing several key initiatives to support the transition, including:

  • Development of the BREA brand and digital presence.
  • Establishment of unified communication channels and member services.
  • Consolidation of membership records and organizational resources.
  • Development of a comprehensive membership program and benefits.
  • Preparation for a nationwide membership campaign and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Continued collaboration with policymakers on the Real Estate Bill.
  • Planning for the inaugural AGM and democratic election of BREA’s first Board of Directors.

Existing members of both AREBB and BNAR can expect regular updates throughout the transition as additional information regarding membership, governance, education, events, and registration becomes available.

The Working Committee also welcomes real estate professionals throughout Belize to join BREA as it begins this exciting new chapter. Together, the Association aims to foster greater collaboration, strengthen industry standards, and enhance public confidence in the real estate profession.

As Belize’s unified professional real estate association, BREA is committed to representing the interests of its members while promoting integrity, transparency, and excellence throughout the industry.
